Backup Logs Monitoring & Validation Checks

Having backups scheduled on a regular basis is no guarantee that the data will be available when you need it most.

In many instances, experience has shown that the data contained on backup media will be un-recoverable due to media errors or backup hardware failure. Most of these failures / errors go unchecked and are only realized when attempting to restore that ‘mission critical’ data.

Unfortunately backups give a false sense of data redundancy and defeat the whole purpose of taking backups.

In order to minimize the possibility of such situations ever materializing, Your iTdept. will, as part of a ProActive package or on an agreed regular basis, check that the data on the backup media is actually recoverable.

This regular validity check will ensure that data from backup media is useable.

Off-Site Critical-data backup

Taking backups off-site ensures that in the unlikely event of severe damage to the server equipment, the critical data is still available.

This service is offered as an add-on to local backups and typically consists of an abstracted version of the data being backed up on a daily basis.
